Gumbo Limbo

This morning we took a Florida forest walk looking for the seedlings of the satin plant.  We just went for the walk in the wood but saw very different vegetation than what we see back in Michigan.  This is the gumbo limbo tree (tourist tree because it peels like the tourist to Florida do). It had a live snail attached to the bark.
Pretty interesting looking tree actually.

I love the title of your post. It reminds me of my Quinoa Quandry one. One thing I love about travel is just seeing how different the local flora and fauna can be from what we know at home.
