Arteriovenous fistula

As you know I am, and now Mark, are visiting our daughter Lindsay's family.  I've been here 10 days and Mark joined me this past Saturday.  We planned this trip around a possible training our son-in-law might have had to take that lasted a month in order to help our daughter out with Dylan.  As it turned out he didn't go for the training.  Just after I got here however, Dave's Dad John took ill while on vacation out west and found himself unable to walk.  In the trauma center in Salt Lake City after many days of testing it was determined he had artriovenous fistula in his spinal cord.  So Dave flew out 4 days after I arrived and has been there since.  He was operated on this morning and we await the next few days for results on the surgery which they hope went well.  Time will tell and it will definately be a long recovery in any case.  Worse case scenerio would have been quadrapelgic status so we are hopeful right now that will not be his fate.
All in all I can only say that the Lord works in mysterious ways ..... bringing us here when we were needed
even if it wasn't the original intent.  And once again this year telling us that life can change in an instant.
