Saugatuck/Douglas tidbits
This week's vacation I caught several random shots that I was pleased with. Sometimes the lighting was just right, sometimes the
crispness of the shot was. But in going through them again this morning, I was moved to choose these as some of my best. I will
also post my favorite one which was actually a combination of two shots that combined well.

Wifi Withdrawal
It will be interesting to see how we (Wild's) handle WiFi withdrawal this next 6 days. While our rental house in Saugatuck looks really nice............it doesn't have high speed (or any speed). And we are all pretty much
addicted to the internet. Ahh well, we'll just have to come up with something else to do with our time. See you in a week!

"The Sandbar"
This weekend we went boating while up north with our friends Rich and Jane and Lee. We were on Torch Lake and got to experience the "Sandbar" which is at the south end of a very, very long, cold, clear lake. It is something that has to be experienced to even explain. On a beautiful day like Saturday it was perfect! Hundred of boats anchor all around the sandbar and people get out and walk around in the water and just party all day. You see just about about everything. Kids, dogs, burgerboats, pizza delivery, lots of skin, helicopters, kites, etc, etc. It was awesome and we did alot of people watching.

Our new porch
One thing we wanted to accomplish this summer was making our porch off the living room a 3 season one.
Mission accomplished! We did have to give up the fully open air which can be so pleasant. But the upside
is we can now enjoy it earlier and longer. I think we're going to love it!

My hometown
Below is a video of my hometown for those who didn't see it on
facebook. The island at the bottom has a road that comes up
and at about 1:09 into the video you'll see it clearer and a small
diamond shape with nothing on it is the little park across the
street from where I grew up. Cool vid! Enjoy

The other heron
We've got a blue heron......got his picture earlier. This is the other heron who, to me, looks yellow though
I'm told is considered green. Whatever, I'm glad they like it here!

Eye Candy
When I shop it's not always about looking for something.
It is sometimes just for the enjoyment of looking at
something. Having worked in a retail shop, I have an
appreciation for the art of making things look attractive
and desirable. Some shops do a wonderful job of it.
Some of my favorite local shopping haunts draw me
back just for the enjoyment I know I will experience
from a stroll down the aisles.

Not just your ordinary burger...
Tonite is our turn to host the Treetop potluck. I've got 23 for dinner. Luckily I only make the meat and everyone
brings a dish to fill out the menu. We do this every Thursday in the summer. My choice is the above from Cooking
Light w/my own variation. I added roasted, pureed eggplant to the turkey and will have cranberry chutney w/it .
The lamb I added nothing but spices as this is the way Mark and I like it. I did make the greek yogurt/mint/lemon/garlic
sauce to go on it. If all turns out well, it maybe something to try for Wild week?
