The D man sits
It's been a few weeks since I've posted Dylan and though most of you see him on Lindsay's blog here he is again!
Big week for Dylan with rolling over back to front all the time now, he's sitting quite nicely as well. Wonders never cease this first year. If he isn't the cutest little guy ...... well then I don't know who is?
Happy B-Day Holly!

Brian's Day
Mark and I wish Brian a wonderful birthday today! When I think of Brian I think of the sweet, shy, cute little guy I met when he was 3 years old and I was already an adult. For me it was instant adoration and to this day I still feel the same. There isn't a thing about Brian I don't like and many things I'm crazy about. He's artistic, quietly observant, very easy going, detail oriented, smart, discerning, and of all the Wild boys, the most like his father whom I also adored. Here's to you Bri! Salute'

Matt promoted
We are very proud of Matt as his work has promoted him to the next level. He's been with United Bank for 3 years now and in these economic times a promotion is a good thing. We are proud of you Matthew!

Reunion amendment
Well we ended up nixing the 1st place for various reasons. Now we are going to stay at the Homestead in Glen Harbor area in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore area. We're happy and excited because we all love the "big" lake which is out our front door. And there are unlimited outdoor activities all love to do like hiking, kayaking, wine tasting, beach bumming, and just hangin w/the fam! The pictures are of the sunset from the 5/bdrm condo and the same but from the inside of our little 2/bdrm condo just a short walk away. August will be here before we know it!

Capturing the night
There are times when I wish I had my brother's or Mark's brother's eye and/or camera.
Trying to catch the full moon at night or at dawn is no easy feat with my little digital 7.2 mega pix! Such an awesome sight deserves someone with more expertise than I. Of course getting up on the roof might have helped too!
New Sofa/Chaise
I know I sometimes lack for excitement in my life but getting a new sofa is pretty exciting for dull old me.
Considering I've just gotten my 4th new one in all my married life of 36 years. It took much consideration on
my part as well as checking out each and every furniture store in Grand Rapids (well I may have missed one).
I'm loving it so far and really like the fact the chaise can be at either end. I can just see Mark sleeping on it now!

2009 Summer Wild Reunion
Every year for the past 7 years we "Wild's" have a gathering of the siblings and their families. 4 years have been at Lake Michigan, one on the northern coast of California, Key West for Lin and Dave's wedding, and last year at Steamboat Springs following Justin and Meaghan's wedding. This year we have been looking at the Traverse City area. It is not an easy task to find something that will work for 20 plus people. Mary and I have been at it for the past 2 months and finally today I think we have found something that will work. Hopefully!
I know that I have spent countless hours on vacation rental websites going over available rentals as has Mary. Brian even logged some time looking. Today I found a nine bedroom place on Old Mission Peninsula at Bower's Harbor that could hold all of us! We shall now see if it "all" comes together!
My biggest thought is this..............how did I ever do this for a living for 25 years!

Week ending w/Dylan
This is the end of our week with Dylan James. Sad for us and wonderful that we got to share a week of his young life 24/7 with him. Grandchildren are so much more fascinating than your own children because you can just observe and enjoy their every move. Even in a week we enjoyed seeing him grip things firmer and with more resolve. Nothing is written in stone at this stage of their lives and everything is a state of flex. Wonders never cease. Outside in the back yard he is fasinated with the tree branches and birds sounds. On a walk in the neighborhood he is mesmerized by the passing trees and sky and clouds.
He was taken with Grampa's nose to nose touches and his sit, stand, jump game. And with me he seemed to remember my shhhhhhhhhhhhhushhhhhhh and gentle quiet as I lay him in his crib.
We must have said atleaast 1000 times "he's just so cute!" And we will leave tomorrow with a delight in our hearts I can only hope to keep aflame til we next see this precious little guy!
