A Heavy Heart

This has been a hard day for us. We lost a very dear friend on Mark's birthday yesterday, Pat Elto, standing to the right of Mark. We've known Pat for probably close to 30 years. First as a client at Travel Gallery and soon after as a neighbor and friend. We've shared much laughter and fun with Pat and Lee and he will be missed greatly. His enthusiasm and outlook was akin to the most fervored of fans to a cause he championed be it serious or sport. There was no middle ground for Pat. You always knew just how he felt and I admire that in a person. I will miss him always being the first one done when we go out to share a meal. I will miss his entertaining way of telling a story. I will miss his insights and love of those he's chanced to share his life with.
Tomorrow we will grieve with other friends on the loss in all of our lives of this dear friend. He will never be forgotten though as he's taken just a little bit of all us with him. Goodbye Patrick Elto.........................

60 Looks Good on You!

Happy birthday to Mark and Mike today! They say the life you've led
shows on your face when you get older. I'd say you've both had a
pretty good life! Here's to the next 20!

Snow

Sometimes the snowfall can be quite pretty. Especially if I don't HAVE
to go drive in it.

Collage of collages

Guess it figures I like to collage actual collages as I do it so often in my photos on
here as well. Not always a rhyme or reason but more a feeling to what I put together.
What I like about it is sort of getting lost in the search for a few hours, staying out
of the cupboards and fridge, and hey........it's just kinda fun.

Indie-Thai Progressive '10

Our annual progressive dinner last night was a resounding success as usual.
Since I was assigned main course this year I picked two of our favorite
types of food, Indian and Thai and all courses stayed true to theme. All
though it was all about the food you'll note there was quite a bit of
"wine tasting" going on as well. For the main course we women donned our
forehead jewel just for the fun of it! All in all I think we may have
converted some our friends to adventure outside of convention once in awhile.

Winter Walk/Snowbanks

The sun coming up and the crisp cold air were pretty this morning. The picture of the car
isn't lovely or anything but it evoked a childhood memory for me that I'm sure I share with
my brothers. Snowbanks. Not only were they most always this high and required a flag on the
ariel of all cars in town, it was our route to school. We would run "up" them and walk along
the top to form a path which got tightly packed and that would be our route to school 3 1/2
blocks away. It was great fun for us come down at each street and run up the next one.
A new snow storm was no problem cause we always had a good base. Ah, to be young again!

Happy 37th

Where have the years gone! Probably the biggest decision I've made in my life
has been whom I chose to go through it with. I am confident I made the right
choice for me. The qualities I fell in love with are still there and as strong
as ever. Happy Anniversary Mark!

Fun with color

On my travels about town today I saw this church and immediately had to stop
and take a few pics of it. Some may say it "sure needs a paint job"....others
like me,love it just the way it is. The color is enhanced on this but I could
see how cool it could be even without that. For me... fun with color.
